QUEM SOU EU? (Who am I?) is a creative project that evolved from the high motivation to work with communities in an artistic and social inclusion awareness-raising perspective.
QUEM SOU EU? is a sensitive way of seeing the population through a self-portrait concept. It’s a journey into memories looking for the beauty in everyone.
Through this creation, we make a journey along the layers of life and the traces of time passing by, allowing for an often unnoticed renovation in his continuous flow. In this process we aimed for the participants to have the opportunity to realize that time is magical, that everyone has value and therefore together we’re celebrating their lives, with all that is beautiful and touching in each and every one of them.

The project QUEM SOU EU? was created with the support of Câmara Municipal do Porto in partnership with:
Centro Social e Paroquial do Calvário, A Benéfica e Previdente – Associação Mutualista, Obra Diocesana do Porto: Centro Social do Cerco, Centro Social Machado Vaz and Centro Social S. João de Deus.
QUEM SOU EU? is part of the special programme celebrating the 30th anniversary of Teatro de Marionetas do Porto.

Yesterday, on stage, there were marionettes (that is: people) with a life of their own, interlinked by an extremely delicate web of untold stories. A web woven by mutual respect and understanding, by a protective instinct, attentive to the slightest signs of frailty of unlikely actors who were nothing more than themselves, between their dreams and reality.
An exercise of discovery of the charm that lies in the simplest things, of a touching beauty that grew and penetrated throughout the performance.
A most delicate essay on Life and the magic of Theatre, in a unique and unforgettable session that I will forever cherish in a little corner of my memory chest…
Congratulations to the Teatro de Marionetas do Porto and Isabel Barros!
