Jason embarks on the ship Argo towards the island of Colchis, in order to conquer the golden fleece. When he arrives on the island, both the daughter and the niece of the King of Colchis, Princess Medea and Creusa, fall in love with Jason. Blinded by passion, Medea helps him fulfil his goal, to get hold of the golden fleece. But Jason, as soon as he has the treasure, runs away with the king’s niece, Creusa. Feeling betrayed, Medea conjures a storm against the two lovers that forces them to return to Colchis. The king, offended by Medea’s assistance in the theft, marries Jason to Creusa and makes him the ruler of the kingdom. Medea, desperate, flees and disappears through the air.
