Isabel Barros

Isabel Barros

Throughout her career, Isabel Barros has developed work as a choreographer, interpreter, programmer and trainer. She was born in Porto and is a member of the board of directors of Balleteatro which she founded. After her initial training in classical dance with Ruth Howner she held several courses in contemporary dance and composition in Paris, where she lived and studied. She took part in several seminars led by Gisèle Barret and Pierre Voltz at the Institut d’Etudes Théâtrales – Paris III. (…)


Sofia Carvalho

Sofia Carvalho

Sofia was born in Coimbra. She began her activity in theatre production in Porto, in 1996. She was assistant to Mário Moutinho at Marionetas do Porto until the end of 1999. Since 2000 she took over the financial management of the company and is also production director.


Filipe Azevedo

He was born in Santa Maria da Feira on April 6th, 1996. From 2011 to 2014 he attended the course of Light, Sound and Stage Effects at Academia Contemporânea do Espetáculo in Porto. He joined Marionetas do Porto’s cast in 2015, debuting in the show “Agapornis” where he was part of the creative team.


Pedro Ramos

He was born in Guarda in 1989. He finished his degree in Multimedia Design at Universidade da Beira Interior in 2010. In the same year, he began his master’s degree in Design at Universidade de Aveiro, finishing in 2012. He started working Marionetas do Porto as a freelancer, and joined the permanent team in 2015 as a designer and production assistant.

Rui Queirós de Matos

Rui Queiroz de Matos

Rui Queiroz de Matos was born in Aveiro on June 5th 1981, and had his first theatrical experience at the age of 15 in the C.E.T.A (Círculo Experimental de Teatro de Aveiro), doing some workshops and participating in two projects. In 2000 he began his professional career at Efémero Companhia de Teatro de Aveiro. From 2004 to 2006 he attended the acting course at Balleteatro Escola Profissional in the city of Porto; he took a professional internship with Visões-Úteis company, being part of the cast in three of its performances. In 2006 he was stage assistant to João Paulo Seara Cardoso and made a special appearance in the play “Boca de Cena” by Marionetas do Porto. Then he was part of the cast of the company Panmixia, participating in all its performances during a year. In January 2010 he was invited by João Paulo Seara Cardoso to be part of the permanent cast of actors of Marionetas do Porto, where he is to this day.


Shirley Resende

Shirley Resende

Shirley was born in Canada in 1973 where she lived until she was 13 years old. Still in Canada she began her studies in music with organ and accordion. Already in Portugal she studied piano at Academia de Música de Santa Maria da Feira. In 1993 she finished the acting course at Balleteatro Escola Profissional. From 1991 to 1997 she taught Piano and Music Theory at Escola de Música do Centro Social Dr. Crispim T. B. Castro. From 1995 to 2005 she was a pianist at Academia de Bailado Clássico Pirmin Treku. In 2001 she attended the singing course at Conservatório de Música do Porto. In 2005 she taught music at Colégio Luso Internacional de Braga. From 2005 to 2007 she taught piano at Escola Profissional de Artes da Beira Interior. Between 2007 and 2010 she taught the voice course at  Balleteatro Escola Profissional. With Marionetas do Porto she took part in the performances “Polegarzinho” (2002), “O Princípio do Prazer” (2003), “A Cor do Céu” (2004), “Os Encantos de Medeia” (2005), “Cabaret Molotov” (2007), “Bichos do Bosque” (as directing assistant, 2007) and “Boca de Cena”(2008). In 2008 she joined the permanent cast of the company.


João Pedro Trindade

João Pedro Trindade

João Pedro Trindade (1990, Aveiro) lives and works in Porto, where he graduated in Fine Arts, by Faculdade de Belas Artes.
He has been collaborating in development and cultural promotion projects such as Painel, between 2012-2014, and is nowadays part of the team of Nartece and Sismógrafo projects.
He exhibits his work regularly since 2012 and has been using painting, sculpture and installation for research and production of his work.
Since 2016 he is a member Marionetas do Porto, working as workshop technician.
